This client had a strong vision for a multi-generational home that is fully accessible, has a legal basement apartment, and a focus on sustainability. The design met all of these conditions and carefully balanced shared and private living areas. The layout boasts large south-facing windows for maximum daylighting and solar heat gain. It has an ICF (insulating concrete forms) foundation, high-insulating pre-fab wall panels and is ready for future solar panel installation -- all contributing to a harmonious blend of comfort, eco-friendliness, and functionality.
